A vintage movie poster reprint of ''The Adventures of Marco Polo'', a 1938 historical adventure film directed by Archie Mayo and starring Gary Cooper in the titular role of Marco Polo. The film is a fictionalized account of the travels and adventures of the Venetian explorer Marco Polo during the 13th century.
The story of "The Adventures of Marco Polo" follows Marco Polo as he embarks on a journey to the Far East along the Silk Road. He is accompanied by his father, Niccolò Polo, and his uncle, Maffeo Polo, as they seek to establish trade routes and establish diplomatic relations with the Mongol Empire led by Kublai Khan, portrayed by George Barbier.
Throughout their journey, Marco Polo encounters various challenges, including treacherous landscapes, rival explorers, and political intrigue within Kublai Khan's court. The film also explores Polo's romantic involvement with Princess Kukachin, played by Sigrid Gurie, a character created for the film.
